EV rebates are a whole other debate - are they creating a fake market or jumpstarting a green future? And hey, where'd all those affordable manuals and small cars go? Maybe consumer choice, not just regulation, is at play there? Let's keep the conversation going, but ditch the black and white thinking, okay?

Lets consider the rising costs of raw materials and costs of goods. The costs of these vehicles will also increase, also consider the rapid advancement of technology where electronic vehicles are preferred over gas-powered vehicles. I'd say its all because of what the consumers choose, they are being informed about the repercussions of CO2 emissions and how to lessen the impact of it, and with that business owners are looking for ways to adapt and develop to cater to the consumer's needs.

I've noticed that government incentives often backfire. It might not always happen, but it's a common pattern. Take EV rebates, for example. They haven't lowered EV prices – in fact, they seem to have made them go up. How does a $30,000 Volvo end up costing $50,000 in Canada? And why is Elon Musk making a huge profit on those Chinese-made EVs? It feels like these rebates are just lining the pockets of the manufacturers.

It's not just EVs, either. Manual transmissions? Gone. Small cars? Getting harder to find. I miss those options, but I understand that the market decides what gets made. Trying to keep something around that people don't want just ends up costing us all more in the long run.

You're totally right, it's not as simple as it seems. These EV rebates, some people think they're just trying to force people to buy electric, but others think it's the right thing to do for the environment.

It really depends on what you think is more important. The car market is crazy complicated, with so many things changing all the time.

But you know, we definitely need to talk more about how to make EVs more affordable and give people more choices.

@krstn.75, we can't find an answer to be perfect for all the questions we have here. The EV space is indeed a space of strong opinions. First, yes, it is the transition to cleaner energy. Second, as @h0tgingerbreadman20 pointed out, they often seem to inflate prices rather than actually make EVs more affordable. Which is questionable. The real question is: Can we balance pushing forward with EV tech while still offering people affordable, practical options? That is where I think the real innovation should focus.

Everyone has strong feelings about EVs, and it's no wonder – they're a big deal for the planet, the economy, and how we live. We need to find a way to make them affordable for everyone, not just rich people.

It's awesome that we're making EVs better, but if most people can't afford them, it's not going to help much.

Maybe we should focus on making batteries cheaper without losing power. Or maybe offer a wider range of EVs, from cheap and cheerful to super fancy. And the government and car companies should work together to make EVs more affordable for everyone. We need some help to bring the prices down!
